The Lewiston Farmers’ Market Association (LFMA) Manager will collaborate with the LFMA Board of Directors (Board) and vendor members to grow a vibrant, regional, farmers’ market and a robust market organization. The LFMA Manager is responsible for overall market operations and will be the driver of LFMA development and sustainability during a time of growth and transition. Ideal candidates have management or comparable leadership experience; are highly relational, collaborative, and culturally competent; organized and creative; adaptable and solution oriented; can oversee diverse responsibilities under varied circumstances and; are ready and excited to lead a longstanding and beloved community endeavor in Lewiston Auburn.
 
The LFM Manager is a physical, public facing, outdoor job. As a rain or shine market, the The LFMA Manager is a physical, public facing, outdoor job. As the LFM is a rain or shine market, the Manager will work alongside seasonal staff and volunteers during most all weather conditions.  The role includes in-person time at the weekly Sunday summer market, between the hours of 8:00 am and 2:30 pm, with occasional earlier and later set up and break down times. Outside of day-of-market hours will involve a range of administrative and communications tasks that include time on the computer and the phone, as well as, zoom or in-person attendance at weekly committee meetings and seasonal full membership meetings. Training and support will be provided by the LFMA Board and vendor members; opportunities for creativity and improvement are encouraged. The Manager will be responsible to LFMA members and work closely with, and be accountable to the LFMA Board of Directors. The Maine Federations of Farmers' Markets (MFFM) serves as the LFMA fiscal sponsor and community partner.


The LFMA Manager is a part-time, year-round position, approximately 50 weeks, with committed peak season hours averaging 15 hours/week between the months of April and November. Winter hours will average 12 hours a week between December and March.  Pay rate is $24-25/hour dependant on experience.
