Maine Harvest Bucks Program

Customers at the Lewiston Farmers' Market who use SNAP/EBT receive bonus fruits and vegetables at no extra cost thanks to the Maine Harvest Bucks program! Effective 2022 the Harvest Bucks match will be 50% of what is spent.

Here is how the program works:
  • For every dollar of SNAP/EBT benefits a customer spends, they receive 50% back in "Harvest Bucks"
  • Harvest Bucks are special coupons that can be spend like cash at LFMA vendors
  • Harvest Bucks only can be used for the purchase of fresh fruits and vegetables and food bearing seedlings such as tomato plants
  • Harvest Bucks are valid for the whole season. They can be spent at any time at the market once they're given out to customers.
  • The program is offered year-round at summer AND winter market.

The Maine Harvest Bucks program varies across farmers' markets, farm stands, CSA's and retail outlets across the state. Make sure to check in with a market manager, farmer or retail manager to understand the unique rules! For a complete list of participating market places visit http://www.maineharvestbucks.org/

The Maine Harvest Bucks program is organized and administered through the Maine Local Foods Access Network (MLFAN), a group of organizations collaborating to improve low-income access to food across the state and funded by
the USDA’s Food Insecurity Nutrition Incentive grant (FINI).
