HOW To Sign UP For Maine SEnior FarmShare Program!

How it Works
Seniors 60 and over visit the Lewiston Farmers' Market, Sundays, 9:30 am [ 1:00 pm at 75 Lincoln Street and sign up right at the Information Booth. Market staff are there to help with the application process, which takes just a few minutes. Once a person signs up they receive $50 in vouchers to spend on fruit, vegetables, cut herbs, or honey with any vendor selling those products. Each person gets can get one "share" of $50 per year. Vouchers are to be spent at the market where a person signs up. No change is given for the $1 and $5 vouchers. Vouchers can be spent all that day or throughout the season.

Who is eligible and can enroll?
To take part in Maine Senior FarmShare Program, you must:
  • Be a Maine resident
  • Be 60 years old or older (55 years old or older for Native Americans)
  • Meet the 2026 Income Guidelines:
    • 1 person household: $29,526
    • 2 person household: $40,034
    • 3 person household: $50,542
    • 4 person household: $61,050
    • 5 person household: $71,558
    • 6 person household: $82,066
Each eligible person in a household that meets these guidelines can get their own $50 share.
